Detection Warnings

Remote ID is based on a standardized protocol. However, not all manufacturers implement it correctly, and in some cases data may be corrupted in transmission. When this happens, our system marks the affected detection with a warning.

Warnings usually do not mean that something is wrong with your Dronetag equipment or that your operations are unsafe. They are informational messages designed to help you understand possible irregularities in the reported Remote ID data.

What it means to have a warning on a detection

A warning simply indicates that the system noticed unusual or potentially invalid data in the Remote ID message.

  • In most cases, this does not require any action from you.
  • The detection will still appear in your system, but some values may be incomplete or inaccurate.
  • You should treat the warning as a note to review the detection details carefully.

Warnings explained

Remote ID Content Error

This warning means that one or more Remote ID messages were corrupted or contained incompatible values.

  • The most common cause is Remote ID equipment that does not fully comply with the industry standards.
  • Occasional errors are not critical, but if this warning appears frequently, we recommend contacting your Remote ID equipment manufacturer for support.

Invalid Timestamps

Dronetag equipment automatically validates reported timestamps. If a timestamp appears too far in the past or future compared to the expected reporting time, a warning is issued.

  • This can happen due to network delays, where Remote ID messages arrive late.
  • It can also occur if the Remote ID equipment itself has issues with time synchronization (for example, when GNSS is not yet available as a time source).

Invalid UAS ID

Our systems validate the serial number against the ANSI/CTA-2063-A standard for UAS identifiers.

  • If the reported ID does not conform to the standard, the device is considered non-compliant with Remote ID requirements.
  • In such cases, we recommend contacting your Remote ID equipment manufacturer to resolve the issue.

Impossible Location

This warning appears when the system detects physically impossible or corrupted values, such as:

  • Invalid or extreme speeds
  • Coordinates outside valid ranges
  • Sudden jumps in reported position

These cases usually indicate corrupted data rather than actual drone movement.
