Dashboard

The dashboard is the main entry point of the mobile and web applications. It allows you to inspect airspace zones, open up flight detail, or have a quick overview of your device status. Any airborne aircraft will be shown with a triangle-shaped icon on the map. If the aircraft belongs to you, it is highlighted in blue so you can easily distinguish it from others. Moreover, basic map layer changes are possible and further map customization will be soon introduced.

Airspace Zones

The app currently shows three types of airspace zones:

  • Airports

  • Controlled airspace

  • Special use airspace.

In most cases, you are not allowed to fly close to the airports without authority/airport permission. Flying in controlled airspace is mostly possible, but care must be taken to not exceed certain height limits to not endanger manned aviation. Special use airspace includes national parks, forbidden zones, temporary reserved area (TRA), and temporary segregated area (TSA) and flying in those is generally forbidden without permission. However, TSA and TRA might not be active all the time or their lower altitude level might not start at the ground surface.

Short Flight Detail

After taping to any aircraft icon on the map, the short flight detail panel appears. It contains basic information about the flight and allows you to to further open Full Flight Detail. If you need as much space as possible on the dashboard, you can toggle the minimalistic version of the panel. The minimalistic version could be also set as the default option in Preferences.

Notifications

The dashboard also contains functionality to show notifications in the same manner as in the In-flight overview screen. Please see Notification Settings for further details.
