Dronetag App

Dronetag Web & Mobile app is a fundamental component of Dronetag’s ecosystem. It allows you to plan your flights, manage your inventory and most importantly, comply with the new European Remote ID regulation. This short page guides you through four easy steps to get your app & device up and running.

Get the App and Register

The app is available for mobile devices (both iOS and Android), but also for the web. Get it from one of the links below and simply create your account for free. To use the full potential of the app, you must have Dronetag IoT device available.

Account management

First, you will be prompted to create a Dronetag account.

You can add as many devices as you like to your account, but keep in mind that each device can only be registered once and will be permanently linked to that account.

If you plan to share your device with multiple users, we recommend creating a single shared account at this time.
An update is currently in the works to enable device sharing across multiple accounts.

If you wish to transfer a device to a different account, open the device in the App and select "Remove from Account" in order to be able to register it once again.

Add your Device

If you purchased our Dronetag IoT device, add it in the My Devices section. You can either enter its serial number manually (starts with1596F) or if you are using our Mobile app then add it automatically via Bluetooth. These steps are simmilar to all our our products.

Add your Aircrafts

Before you plan your first flight, your account must have at least one aircraft. This helps you to choose different aircraft for different missions to keep your logbook relevant for maintenance purposes. Moreover, aircraft data such as weight and type are shared with others so they can distinguish a toy from a professional heavy lift drone.

Plan your First Flight

The last step of this quick start guide is to plan and execute your first flight. The flight planning functionality is now available only on the Web app and is accessible from the dashboard. Particular flight parameters are region, date & time, your aircraft and Dronetag device. After filling in all the details and confirming the plan, the flight will be marked as a Planned and will be started as soon as the first telemetry from the selected device arrives. The flight is finished when you end it with the button on your device. Then you can inspect the flight via playback function or export it for further processing in the My flights section.

However, a simpler way to keep your logbook up-to-date exist. You can start flights directly from the device without planning in advance in the app. Just turn on your device and start the flight with the button (or automatically). The default flight plan will be created automatically with a 500m radius circle (current position used for center), 120 meters maximum height and default aircraft. Don’t forget to set up the intended default aircraft in the User Profile.

(Optional) Fill & Upload your UAS Operator ID

While most features and information on our platform are applicable to both US and the EU regions, please pay attention to a specific functionality known as the UAS Operator ID. This feature is exclusively relevant to EU customers, as it complies with regulations specific to the European Union. To comply with the latest Remote ID EU regulation, fill in your UAS Operator ID in the User profile section. After filled in the profile, turn on your Dronetag device and open its device detail in Mobile app. You will see warning message that UAS Operator ID in your device is inconsistent with the one you have in profile. With Synchronize button, your Operator ID will be saved to the device’s memory. Then your UAS Operator ID is broadcasted from the device during the flight.

(Optional) Setup your Notifications

Dronetag Web & Mobile App allows you to receive the device, geofencing, proximity notifications that make your airspace journey safer. To learn more about notifications, the Notification Settings guide might be handy for you.

(Optional) Setup your Device

Dronetag Mobile App allows you to configure various device parameters which will help you to optimize the performance versus battery usage. For example, you can disable the NRI/ DRI, or you can change the DRI/NRI frequencies and adjust GNSS settings. For more information about device configuration, visit Dronetag Mini Configuration.
