Notice for products bought before 10/16/2023

Dronetag BS is engineered to operate with power sources of up to 17 volts. However, when connecting a 4S battery with a voltage of 16.8 volts, there is a potential for a transient event to occur, overshooting by a factor of more than double voltage, exceeding 30 volts, leading to sparking and damaging the Dronetag BS.

This only affects products that were shipped before 10/16/2023.

Therefore, if you are powering the Dronetag BS directly from the battery, we suggest the following possible precautions:

  1. Choose another way of power supply - e.g. from balance connector (use only 1S , or 2S).

  2. Limit the current voltage by adding a resistor to the power path to the BS (any from 4R7 to 120R will do).

  1. Limit the transient by connecting a rectifier diode to the power path (e.g. 1N400x, 1N4148 will also do).

BS sent after 10/16/2023 will have this problem solved as new revision of the BS will be introduced.
