Data Bundles for RIDER
One of the key elements that make Dronetag stand out is our full-featured Remote ID ecosystem.
We don’t just offer the RIDER as hardware - we provide a complete solution including the web and mobile apps, a robust cloud platform, and supporting software.
This integrated approach ensures a unified and efficient experience for managing your drone detections and airspace awareness.
To unlock the full range of RIDER’s features and cloud connectivity, users can purchase one of our Data Bundles.
Data Bundles allow you to store detections securely in the Dronetag Cloud, share live airspace data, and monitor RIDER remotely. They are designed to provide flexibility and scalability - from individual pilots to enterprise users.
It’s important to understand that a Data Bundle represents a prepaid data package with limited validity, measured in Detection Hours (the equivalent of data consumed during one hour of continuous drone detection).
When Do I Need a Data Bundle?
You need a Data Bundle when you want to use RIDER in Online Mode, which requires LTE connectivity to access all cloud-based features.
Much like a mobile phone data plan, your Data Bundle covers:
- LTE network access via the built-in SIM card
- Cloud data storage and hosting
- Software development and feature updates
In short, your Data Bundle not only keeps your RIDER connected but also supports the continuous improvement of the Dronetag ecosystem.
Using RIDER Without a Data Bundle
While Data Bundles enhance the RIDER experience, they are not mandatory for basic operation.
Without an active Data Bundle, RIDER works in Offline Mode, connecting via Bluetooth to the Drone Scanner (Gen. 2) app.
You can still detect nearby drones in real time, but detections will not be stored in the cloud.
Features available without a Data Bundle
- Detect all drones broadcasting Remote ID
- Use the Drone Scanner (Gen. 2) app over Bluetooth
- View live airspace activity (type, speed, heading, operator position, distance, altitude,...)
- Scan in full offline mode without LTE or internet connection
However, without a Data Bundle, you won’t have access to:
- Cloud detection history
- Remote access to RIDER data
- Account-wide sharing or integrations
Available Data Bundle Options
We currently offer flexible bundles to fit different needs:
📦 Data Bundle | ⏳ Validity | 📡 Included Scanning Hours | 💶 Price |
---|---|---|---|
Basic | 3 months | 60 hours | €75 / $75 |
Extended | 12 months | 240 hours | €240 / $240 |
We also offer advanced plans:
- Long-term contracts – e.g. €720 / $720 for 3 years, with 240 hours/year, software access, and integrations (Aloft, SafeSky).
- Agency Unlimited Plan – €300 / $300 per year with unlimited Scanning Hours.

What Is a Detection Hour?
A Detection Hour represents the amount of data used to receive all Remote ID messages from one drone for one hour, based on the standard 5 Hz broadcast rate.
1 Detection Hour = ~18,000 Remote ID messages
Examples:
- 1 drone × 1 hour = 1 Detection Hour
- 3 drones × 30 min = 1.5 Detection Hours
When RIDER is scanning but no drones are detected, almost no data is used.
Usage is calculated per device.
Detection Hours don’t limit how long you can keep RIDER running - they only measure LTE data sent to the cloud.
Most users reach the validity period before fully using all Detection Hours.
Free Trial Included
Each new Dronetag RIDER includes a free Data Bundle trial with:
- 40 Detection Hours
- 2 months validity
This lets you explore all online features - such as cloud history, remote monitoring, and integrations - before purchasing another bundle.
You can then decide which plan best fits your workflow.
