Installation Prerequisities
This section describes the requirements for successful deployment of the Scout.

What is required to install and operate the Scout?
- Power outlet or ethernet available with supported PoE
- Ethernet cable dedicated for outdoor use (cat. 5 and higher)
- Ability and equipment to crimp your ethernet cable
- Safe and dry place for placing the PoE injector
- Local network which will be used to operate Scout
- Computer to connect to local network to configure Scout
- Appropriate place to mount the Scout
- Two 10 mm wrenches
- Phillips screwdriver (only for devices operated in U.S.A.)
- Scissors or knife for cutting a tape
- Pole in desired place with diameter 45 – 110 mm
- Configure a Port for Scout to 100Mbit Full Duplex
Choose the right location
- A suitable location must be identified for the receiver installation.
- The performance of the receiver depends on having an unobstructed view of the surroundings.
- A rooftop, preferably the tallest in the vicinity, often serves as an ideal installation site.
tip
For the best range performance of the Scout, do not mount it too close to any signal transmitter with 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency.
